ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed an emergency evacuation harness device for underlying a mattress for moving an immobile person. The device comprises a sheet of flexible material having a plurality of spaced apart transverse straps extending across the sheet with attachment means operatively associated with each of the straps. The unit includes a plurality of second longitudinal straps extending from the first end of the sheet and extendable in use over the mattress and a patient on the mattress to the second end of the sheet. There are also included fastening means operatively associated with the longitudinal straps positioned to engage the attachment means when the longitudinal strap extends over the mattress.
