A method of obtaining tariff rates on a plurality of candidate service providers accessible to a roaming mobile subscriber for use in choosing the most suitable candidate service provider in a visited area. The method includes initiating registration by the mobile subscriber to a first candidate service provider. A request for subscriber's profile information is made by the first candidate service provider to the subscriber's home service provider. Additionally, the first candidate service provider sends the intended tariff rate to be charged to the subscriber to the home provider. The home provider determines which other candidate providers are accessible by the subscriber and requests tariff information regarding these providers. The home provider may then determine the most suitable provider based on the received tariff information e.g. the lowest tariff. If the provider of the currently pending registration is determined to be the most suitable, the registration process continues and the subscriber remains registered with the first candidate service provider. If on the other hand a second candidate service provider is most suitable, the home provider notifies the subscriber of this information via an SMS message, for example. The subscriber can then register with the appropriate provider either manually or automatically in response to the notification.
L'invention se rapporte à un procédé d'obtention de taux tarifaires de la part d'une pluralité de fournisseurs de service candidats accessibles par un abonné mobile itinérant pour permettre à l'abonné de choisir le fournisseur de service candidat le plus approprié dans une zone visitée. Ledit procédé consiste tout d'abord en un enregistrement de l'abonné mobile auprès d'un premier fournisseur de service candidat. Une demande d'informations relatives au profil de l'abonné est effectuée par le premier fournisseur de service candidat au fournisseur de service de rattachement de l'abonné. En outre, le premier fournisseur de service candidat envoie au fournisseur de rattachement le taux tarifaire prévu qu'il facturera à l'abonné. Le fournisseur de rattachement détermine quels sont les autres fournisseurs candidats auxquels l'abonné peut accéder et demande des informations relatives aux taux tarifaires pratiqués par ces fournisseurs. Le fournisseur de rattachement peut alors déterminer quel est le fournisseur le plus adapté en fonction des informations tarifaires reçues, c'est à dire choisir le fournisseur pratiquant le tarif le plus bas. Si le fournisseur de l'enregistrement couramment en attente est estimé être le plus adapté, le processus d'enregistrement continue et l'abonné reste enregistré auprès du premier fournisseur de service candidat. Si par contre, un second fournisseur de service parait plus adapté, le fournisseur de service en avise l'abonné par l'intermédiaire d'un message SMS par exemple. L'abonné peut alors s'enregistrer auprès du fournisseur approprié soit manuellement soit automatiquement en réponse à l'avis reçu.
