A passive venting device for venting a building comprising a base comprising (1) a vent structure for permitting gases to pass in and out of the building; (2) an attachment structure coupled to the vent structure for attaching the device; and (3) a gas-permeable screen sized, shaped and positioned to prevent objects from passing through said vent structure, and having an airflow--enhancing configuration for providing greater airflow area than screens of ordinary sloped configuration; and a cover mountable to the base so as to cover the vent structure and permit the free flow of gas. The gas-permeable screen is spaced from the attachment structure in a direction vertically away the roof.
Appareil de ventilation passive servant à l'aération d'un bâtiment et comprenant une base incluant (1) une structure d'aération permettant aux gaz d'entrer et de sortir du bâtiment; (2) une structure de fixation reliée à la structure d'aération permettant d'attacher l'appareil; (3) un écran perméable au gaz dont la taille, la forme et la position empêchent les objets de passer à travers ladite structure d'aération, et conçu pour faciliter la circulation de l'air en offrant une surface de circulation plus importante que les écrans inclinés ordinaires; et un couvercle pouvant être fixé à la base afin de couvrir la structure d'aération et de permettre la libre circulation de l'air. L'écran perméable au gaz est espacé de la structure de fixation dans le sens vertical, en direction du toit.
