Form 24 (ss. 21, 31, 34, and 142) ABSTRACT An improved Hay Battery locomotive storage battery consisting of a 1/8" steel casing with welded (safer) steel lifting handles. Each different size and amperage battery type can be color coded for identification. The steel case is insulated with shock absorbent material with an insulation value not less than R5, which absorbs shocks, prevents splitting and freezing and preserves electrical energy in cold weather. Separate lead acid cells, which are individually sealed twice and pressure tested. To supply a welded electrical cable assembly which illiminates incorrect installation and poss- ible blow-ups from shorts. Batteries suffering from incorrect (reverse) installation must be replaced at extra unnecessary expense.
