A plug assembly for a faucet includes a casing (10), a cylinder (20) securely received in the casing (10) and having an isolator (40) having a tapered through hole (41) and slits (42) communicating with the outlets of (23) the cylinder (20), a top ring (50) supported by the cylinder (20) to sandwich the isolator (40) with the cylinder (20). The top ring (50) has a hole (51). A control rod (60) is slidably received in the tapered through hole (41). A push rod (70) is securely connected to the control rod (60) to sandwich a friction ring (80) with the control rod (60). An adjusting device is to adjust deformation of the friction ring (80) such that the engagement of the friction ring (80) to the inner periphery of the tapered through hole (41) is adjusted.
