ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of treating tumour cells comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an antioxidant. In accordance with one aspect of the invention a method of treating tumour cells is provided comprising administering an antioxidant in an amount effective for sensitizing the cells to radiation or to a chemotherapeutic agent. Preferably, the method is used to radiosensitive tumour cells during radiotherapy in a mammal.
