A method for automatically without any required manual interaction packing a media bed in a column (3) from a slurry being a dispersion of said media particles and a liquid, said method comprising the steps (a) - (f) which all are performed automatically: a) filling the column (3) with a certain volume of slurry; b) packing a media bed from the slurry to a predefinedtarget bed height or a predefined target bed compression; c) testing the separation efficiency of the packed bed; d) automatically unpacking the bed if test results not are acceptableor alternatively flow conditioning the packed bed if test results not are acceptable and return to c); e) calculating new volume of slurry to be filledinto the column based on the test results; f) repeat from a).

L'invention porte sur un procédé pour remplir automatiquement, sans aucune interaction manuelle, un lit de milieux dans une colonne (3) à partir d'une bouillie qui est une dispersion desdites particules de milieux et d'un liquide, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes (a) (f) qui sont toutes effectuées automatiquement : a) remplissage de la colonne (3) avec un certain volume de bouillie ; b) remplissage d'un lit de milieux par la bouillie jusqu'à une hauteur de lit cible prédéfinie ou une compression de lit cible prédéfinie ; c) tester l'efficacité de séparation du lit rempli ; d) déremplissage automatique du lit si des résultats de test ne sont pas acceptables ou, par ailleurs, conditionnement d'écoulement du lit rempli si des résultats de test ne sont pas acceptables, et retour à c) ; e) calcul du nouveau volume de bouillie devant être introduit dans la colonne sur la base des résultats de test ; f) répétition à partir de a).
