A device for controlling weight on bit of a drilling assembly for drilling a borehole in an earth formation, is provided. The device comprises a fluid passage (24, 26) for the drilling fluid flowing through the drilling assembly, and control means (14, 16) for controlling the flow resistance of drilling fluid in said passage in a manner that said flow resistance increases when the fluid pressure in the passage decreases and that said flow resistance decreases when the fluid pressure in the passage increases.

L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant de réguler le poids sur le trépan d'un système de forage servant à réaliser un trou de forage dans un terrain. Le dispositif comprend un passage fluidique (24, 26) pour le fluide de forage qui s'écoule à travers le système de forage, et des éléments de commande (14, 16) permettant de réguler la résistance à l'écoulement du fluide de forage dans ledit passage, de manière à ce que ladite résistance à l'écoulement augmente lorsque la pression fluidique diminue dans le passage et qu'elle diminue lorsque la pression fluidique augmente dans le passage.
