ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A contact spring having an interactive connection to an armature is brought into contacting contact with its respective cooperating contact element in a position corresponding to the working position of the armature. Subsequently, an excess stroke is exerted on the armature such that the desired contacting force is produced. A fastening end of the respective contact spring is applied to a carrier in a position corresponding to the excess stroke and is joined thereto. By setting the excess stroke before fastening the contact spring, the latter is already fixed to its carrier in the proper position so that accumulated tolerated tolerances are largely suppressed and a subsequent adjustment is avoided.
