A roping practice apparatus includes a base and a plurality of spoked wheels rotatably mounted to the base. Each spoked wheel defines a slot between adjacent radially extending spokes. The spoked wheels are mounted such that the spokes extend above the top surface of the base. A head portion defines a plurality of wheel wells on a bottom surface thereof and each spoked wheel extends upward into a corresponding wheel well. The head portion is supported by inner surfaces of the wheel wells bearing against outer ends of the spokes such that a gap is formed between the bottom surface of the head portion and the top surface of the base. A rope drawn through the gap enters a slot on each spoked wheel and causes each wheel to rotate.
