The present invention is directed to liquid coating compositions and dosage forms having a continuous shell portion of a first composition and at least one discontinuous shell portion that is compositionally different located within the continuous shell portion. The present invention also provides a process for preparing a dosage form, which comprises coating a core with a continuous shell portion having a first composition and at least one discontinuous shell portion that is compositionally different located within the continuous portion, and then cooling the coated core. The coating compositions are particularly suited for forming shell coatings on solid pharmaceutical dosage forms.

La présente invention concerne des compositions liquides pour enrobage et des formes pharmaceutiques comportant une enveloppe continue ayant une première composition et au moins une enveloppe discontinue dont la composition est différente et qui est située à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe continue. L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d'une forme pharmaceutique, ledit procédé comprenant l'enrobage d'un noyau par une enveloppe continue ayant une première composition et par au moins une enveloppe discontinue dont la composition est différente et qui est située à l'intérieur de l'enveloppe continue, puis le refroidissement du noyau enrobé. Les compositions d'enrobage conviennent tout particulièrement pour former des enveloppes d'enrobage sur des formes pharmaceutiques solides.
