An electronic database system for merchant owned credit card accounts has an electronic processor for receiving pre-authorized credit card payments transferred electronically from bank accounts of credit card holding customers. The processor operates to electronically add a pre-determined amount to each payment received, and an electronic credit account database electronically receives from the processor a signal representing a payment made plus the pre-determined added amount for credits to the particular credit card account concerned.
