The instant invention makes impractical the use of sympathomimetic amine compositions in illicit drug production. More specifically, the preparation of methamphetamine from the disclosed pseudoephedrine hydrochloride formulations is inhibited. The present invention defines pharmaceutical compositions comprising a sympathomimetic amine salt and at least one combination inhibitor, the combination inhibitor which acts both to interfere with the isolation of the sympathomimetic amine from the composition and to interfere with the conversion of the sympathomimetic amine to another pharmacologically active compound. The contemplated compositions may also include reaction and separation inhibitors in any mixture to assure maximum protection against the use of the sympathomimetic amine-containing compositions for illegal drug manufacture. The presence of the combination, reaction and separation inhibitors does not significantly alter the release of the sympathomimetic amine from the composition.
La présente invention permet de rendre impossible l'utilisation de compositions d'amine sympathomimétique à des fins de production illicite de drogue. Plus spécifiquement, la préparation de méthamphétamine issue des formulations décrites d'hydrochlorure de pseudo-éphédrine est empêchée. L'invention définit des compositions pharmaceutiques renfermant un sel d'amine sympathomimétique et au moins un inhibiteur de combinaison. L'inhibiteur de combinaison agit de façon à empêcher l'isolement de l'amine sympathomimétique de la composition et à empêcher la transformation de l'amine sympathomimétique en un autre composé pharmacologiquement actif. Les compositions en question peuvent également renfermer des inhibiteurs de réaction et de séparation dans n'importe quel mélange, qui assurent une protection maximale contre l'utilisation des compositions contenant une amine sympathomimétique à des fins de fabrication illégale de drogue. La présence d'inhibiteurs de combinaison, de réaction et de séparation ne modifie pas de manière importante la libération de l'amine sympathomimétique de la composition.
