A technique for implementing in a networked client-server environment, network- distributed advertising in which advertisements are downloaded from an advertising server to a browser executing at a client computer and subsequently displayed by that browser on an interstitial basis, in response to a click-stream generated by the user. An HTML advertising tag is embedded into a referring web page. This tag contains two components. One component effectively downloads from a distribution web server and persistently instantiates an agent at the client browser which downloads advertising files originating from an AD management system residing on a third-party advertising web server, for a given advertisement into browser cache and subsequently plays those media files through the browser on an interstitial basis. The other component is a reference of the advertising management system. This latter reference totally "decouples" advertising content from a web page such that a web page, merely includes an advertising tag that refers, via a URL, to a specific AD management system. The AD management system selects the given advertisement that is to be downloaded.
L'invention concerne une technique servant à mettre en place dans un environnement client-serveur réseauté de la publicité répartie par réseau. Selon cette technique, des publicités sont téléchargées à partir d'un serveur de publicité vers un navigateur exécuté à un ordinateur de client, et ultérieurement affichées par ce navigateur de manière interstitielle, en réponse à un clic produit par l'utilisateur. Une étiquette publicitaire HTML est incorporée dans une page web de renvoi. Cette étiquette contient deux éléments. Un élément télécharge effectivement, à partir d'un serveur web de répartition, et instancie continuellement un agent dans le navigateur de client, cet agent téléchargeant des fichiers publicitaires provenant d'un système de gestion publicitaire situé sur un serveur web de publicité tiers, pour une publicité donnée dans la mémoire cache du navigateur, et reproduit ultérieurement ces fichiers de supports par l'intermédiaire du navigateur de manière interstitielle. L'autre élément est une référence du système de gestion publicitaire, qui "dissocie" totalement le contenu publicitaire d'une page web, de sorte qu'une page web ne contient qu'une étiquette publicitaire se référant, via un URL, à un système de gestion publicitaire spécifique. Le système de gestion publicitaire spécifique sélectionne la publicité donnée à télécharger.
