A thermal type recording apparatus performs printing at multi-tone density by changing an energizing time of a thermal head. The apparatus has a controller for controlling the energizing time and a interrupting circuit. The controller controls the energizing time to match to a value corresponding to a tone density for printing. The interrupting circuit puts an interrupt period of energizing for the energizing time if the energizing time is equal to or more than a predetermined time.

Cet appareil est doté d'un contrôleur servant à contrôler le temps d'excitation, et d'un circuit interrupteur. Le contrôleur adapte le temps d'excitation à la densité de teinte requise pour l'impression. Le circuit interrupteur impose une période d'interruption à l'excitation quand le temps d'excitation est égal ou supérieur à un temps prédéterminé.
