A steel for thin sheet having good workability which is significantly improved with respect to the occurrence of surface defect and a method for deoxidation which can be used for preventing nozzle clogging in continuous casting of the steel in a molten state. The steel comprises C: 0.0001 to 0.0030 %, Si: 0.03 wt.% or less, Mn: 0.05 to 0.30 wt.%, P: 0.015 wt.% or less, S: 0.001 to 0.015 wt.%, Al: 0.008 wt.% or less, Ti: 0.02 to 0.08 wt.%, Ca: 0.0005 to 0.0020 wt.% and N: 0.0005 to 0.01 wt.%, and optionally Nb: 0.001 to 0.02 wt.% and B: 0.0001 to 0.0010 wt.%; the residue being Fe and elements from impurities inevitably contaminated. The method is characterized in that it prevents the clogging of a casting nozzle by controlling the composition of non-metallic substances in the steel through the control of the amount of Ca and Al which are added as deoxidizers.
Cette invention concerne un acier pour tôles fines qui possède une bonne aptitude à l'usinage et qui présente de grandes améliorations en ce qui concerne les défauts de surface. Cette invention concerne également un procédé de désoxydation qui peut être utilisé afin d'empêcher l'obstruction de la buse lors du coulage continu de l'acier à l'état fondu. Cet acier comprend les composants suivants: de 0,0001 à 0,0030 % de C; 0,03 % en poids ou moins de Si; de 0,05 à 0,30 % en poids de Mn; 0,015 % en poids ou moins de P; de 0,001 à 0,015 % en poids de S; 0,008 % en poids ou moins d'Al; de 0,02 à 0,08 % en poids de Ti; de 0,0005 à 0,0020 % en poids de Ca; et de 0,0005 à 0,01 % en poids de N. Cet acier comprend éventuellement de 0,001 à 0,02 % en poids de Nb et de 0,0001 à 0,0010 % en poids de B, le reste se composant de Fe ainsi que d'éléments issus d'impuretés inévitables. Ce procédé se caractérise en ce qu'il permet d'éviter l'obstruction de la buse de coulage, ceci en modifiant la composition des substances non métalliques dans l'acier qui se fait en ajustant les quantités de Ca et d'Al ajoutés en qualité de désoxydants.
