A flow meter apparatus for measuring attributes of a fluid using the Coriolis principle is disclosed. The apparatus comprises: (A) a body (1) capable of being inserted into and surrounded by the fluid, (B) an actuator (5, 6), disposed within the body (1), for vibrating a surface of the body in a radial mode of vibration, the vibrating surface developing Coriolis forces within the fluid (28), (C) a detector (9, 10), coupled to the surface, for measuring motion of the surface, the motion being a function of Coriolis forces developed in the fluid and (D) a circuit, coupled to the measuring detector, for determining an attribute of the fluid as a function of the motion of the surface. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a conduit surrounds the apparatus and is coupled to the detector. The apparatus allows precise detection of mass flow rate, pressure, density and viscosity of the fluid surrounding the apparatus.

L'invention concerne un débitmètre pour mesurer les paramètres d'un fluide selon le principe de Coriolis. L'appareil comprend (A) un corps (1) pouvant être inséré dans le fluide et immergé dans ce dernier, (B) un actionneur (5, 6) placé à l'intérieur du corps (1), pour faire vibrer une surface du corps selon un mode radial de vibrations, la surface de vibration développant des forces de Coriolis à l'intérieur du fluide (28), (C) un détecteur (9, 10) couplé à la surface, pour mesurer le mouvement de la surface, ce mouvement étant fonction des forces de Coriolis développées dans le fluide et (D) un circuit, couplé au détecteur de mesure, pour déterminer un paramètre du fluide en fonction du mouvement de la surface. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, un conduit entoure l'appareil et est couplé au détecteur. L'appareil permet de détecter avec précision le débit massique, la pression, la densité et la viscosité du fluide entourant l'appareil.
