New binary azeotropes of hexamethyldisiloxane with certain alcohols and their use as environmentally friendly cleaning agents are disclosed. The alcohol component of the binary azeotrope is 3-methyl-3-pentanol C2H5C(CH3)(OH)C2H5; 2-pentanol CH3CH2CH2CH(OH)CH3 or 1-methoxy-2-propanol CH3OCH2CH(CH3)OH.
