-15- Abstract of the Disclosure Compression packing comprising a braided, generally non-metallic body section and a metallic reinforcing section disposed in the body section and extending for substantially the full length of the body section, the metallic reinforcing section being more rigid than the body section and being deformable and substantially inelastic, the metallic reinforcing section having a cross-sectional area relative to the cross-sectional area of the body section such that the packing can be formed into and substantially maintained in a desired shape.
