The present invention provides a monoclonal anti-idiotype antibody 3H1 that escapes immune tolerance and elicits a specific immune response to CEA in mice, rabbits, monkeys, and patients with advanced CEA- associated disease. This invention also provides compositions which can be used in the detection or treatment of CEA-associated tumors mimics a specific epitope on carcinoembryonic antigen and a hybridoma that produces 3H1.

L'invention porte sur un anticorps 3H1 monoclonal anti-idiotype qui échappe à la tolérance immunitaire et suscite une réponse immunitaire spécifique au CEA (antigène carcinoembrionique) chez la souris, le lapin, le singe et l'homme atteint de maladies liées au CEA à un stade avancé. L'invention porte également sur des compositions utilisables dans la détection et le traitement de tumeurs associées au CEA, et qui entraînent un mimétisme d'un épitope spécifique du CEA et un hybridome produisant le 3H1.
