An apparatus, in particular for use in the antenatal period of pregnant women for insertion into the vagina, the main function of said apparatus being to dilate muscular, tendinous and connective tissue in the pelvic floor so as to make these tissue structures more flexible. The apparatus comprises a length of hose (4) mounted on the mandrel (3) and expandable by means of a fluid, said length of hose being connectible with the fluid through at least one channel (6) in the mandrel, said mandrel being formed with at least one channel which extends longitudinally through it and terminates outside the user in the use of the apparatus. The mandrel with the length of hose may be provided with a replaceable cover which adds to the hygiene and safety. The apparatus is more handy and easy to use than the prior art apparatus which has a purely mechanical action.

Dispositif conçu, en particulier, pour être utilisé pendant la période prénatale chez la femme enceinte afin d'être introduit dans le vagin, la fonction principale de ce dispositif consistant à dilater les tissus musculaires, tendineux et conjonctifs dans le périnée, de manière à assouplir la structure de ces tissus. Ce dispositif est composé d'une longueur de tuyau (4) montée sur une tige (3) et pouvant se dilater sous l'effet d'un liquide, ladite longueur de tuyau pouvant communiquer avec le liquide par l'intermédiaire d'au moins un canal (6) situé dans la tige, cette dernière comportant au moins un canal s'étendant dans le sens de sa longueur et se terminant hors du corps de la patiente pendant l'utilisation du dispositif. La tige comportant la longueur de tuyau peut être pourvue d'un élément de couverture remplaçable, ce qui constitue un apport supplémentaire à l'hygiène et à la sécurité. Ce dispositif est plus pratique et plus facile à utiliser que celui de l'état actuel de la technique qui exerce une action purement mécanique.
