Disclosed is a molecular sieve catalyst which contains molecular sieve- containing attrition particles and virgin molecular sieve, the attribution particles having been recycled from a catalyst manufacture process or from a reaction system. The catalyst can be used in a variety of catalytic reaction processes. A desired process is making olefins from an oxygenate feedstock. The recovery and use of the attrition particles in the catalyst is beneficial in minimizing waste, thereby reducing problems relating to both environmetal and economic constraints.

L'invention concerne un catalyseur à tamis moléculaire contenant un tamis moléculaire renfermant des particules d'attrition et un tamis moléculaire vierge, les particules d'attrition ayant été recyclées au moyen d'un procédé de fabrication de catalyseur ou d'un système de réaction. Le catalyseur peut être utilisé dans divers procédés de réaction catalytique. Un procédé désiré fabrique des oléfines à partir d'une charge de composé oxygéné. La récupération et l'utilisation des particules d'attrition dans le catalyseur permet de réduire la quantité de déchets, réduisant ainsi les problèmes liés à la contrainte environnementale et économique.
