A flexible liner (38) includes a back side surface having a number of ribs (46) that project outwardly a distance away from the liner. The ribs each have an enlarged profile configured to provide a strong mechanical lock with an intermediate adhesion layer (44) or carrier that is applied to a surface portion (42) of the underlying substrate (40) needing surfacing or rehabilitation. The liner is installed to surface or rehabilitate a structure by applying a thickness of the carrier to the wall section of the underlying substrate, positioning a back side surface of the liner adjacent the carrier, pressing the liner against the carrier so that the ribs are inserted and completely covered by the carrier, and forming a mechanical lock between the ribs and the carrier. The carrier cures to form a strong bond with the surface of the underlying substrate but not with the back side surface of the liner.

Cette invention concerne un revêtement flexible (38) au dos duquel sont disposées un certain nombre de nervures (46) saillantes vers l'extérieur à une certaine distance dudit revêtement. Chaque nervure possède un profil élargi destiné à assurer une fixation mécanique solide avec une couche (44) ou un support d'adhésion intermédiaire, ce support étant appliqué sur une partie de surface (42) du substrat sous-jacent (40) à surfacer ou à remettre en état. Le revêtement employé pour surfacer ou remettre en état un substrat se met en place par application d'une épaisseur dudit support sur une partie de la paroi du substrat sous-jacent, avant de placer le dos du revêtement contre le support, puis par compression contre le support afin d'y insérer les nervures jusqu'à ce que celles-ci soient complètement recouvertes par ledit support, ceci permet d'obtenir une fixation mécanique solide entre ces nervures et le support. Enfin, le support se durcit pour former une liaison solide avec la surface du substrat sous-jacent, et non avec le dos du revêtement.
