An NMR logging apparatus and method are provided including an antenna having compensation for magnetostrictive ringing. The antenna comprises at least one inductive winding (126) and a core (118) having a first portion having positive magnetostriction in the presence of a radio frequency magnetic field, and a second portion having negative magnetostriction in the presence of the radio frequency magnetic field. The positive and negative portions may be tiles (302, 304) shaped as polygonal cylinders arranged with alternating positive and negative tiles forming at least one layer of a matrix, or the portions may be constructed using ferrite powder fixed in epoxy and shaped in polygonal cylinders.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de diagraphie à résonance magnétique nucléaire, lequel appareil est pourvu d'une antenne capable de compenser la formation d'anneaux de magnétostriction. Cette antenne comprend au moins un enroulement inductif et un noyau, dont une première partie présente une magnétostriction positive en présence d'un champ magnétique, et dont une seconde partie présente une magnétostriction négative en présence dudit champ magnétique. Ces parties positive et négative peuvent soit être réalisées sous la forme de carreaux, notamment sous la forme de cylindres polygonaux disposés de manière que les carreaux positifs et négatifs alternés forment au moins une couche d'une matrice, soit être créées à partir d'une poudre de ferrite fixée dans de l'epoxy puis profilées en cylindres polygonaux.
