The present invention relates to a method for producing a porous carbon article comprising the steps of forming a workpiece with transport porosity and forming nanopores in said workpiece by thermochemical treatment. According to the invention the workpiece is formed as a rigid carbonaceous skeleton containing in its structure particles of one or more carbides, being selected and arranged in order to provide predetermined nanopore sizes, a predetermined volume of nanopores and a predetermined distribution of nanopores within the volume of the article.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un article en fibres de carbone poreuses, qui consiste à former une pièce à usiner à porosité de transport et à former des nanopores dans celle-ci par traitement thermochimique. Selon l'invention, la pièce à usiner est formée sous forme de squelette carboné rigide contenant dans ses particules de structure un ou plusieurs carbures, choisis et disposés de sorte que soient produits des nanopores de taille prédéterminée, un volume prédéterminé et une répartition prédéterminée des nanopores dans le volume de l'article.
