An Ethernet-protection-switch system comprising a first transceiver node having Ethernet ports and transmit/receive lines communicatively coupled to a respective one of the Ethernet ports. The Ethernet ports include one active-receive Ethernet port and at least one backup-receive Ethernet port. Each transmit/receive line carrying duplicates of a data packet sent from a communicatively coupled second transceiver node. The duplicated data packet input from a transmit/receive line to the active-receive Ethernet port is received at the first transceiver node. The duplicated data packet input from a transmit/receive line to a respective one of the at least one backup-receive Ethernet port is discarded at the first transceiver node. If the transmit/receive line inputting the duplicated data packet, to the active-receive Ethernet port fails, one of the at least one backup-receive Ethernet ports begins to function as the active-receive Ethernet port. The first transceiver node is configured to output duplicated data packets from each of the Ethernet ports for transmission on each of the transmit/receive lines.
L'invention concerne un système de commutateur de protection Ethernet qui comporte un premier noed d'émetteur-récepteur ayant des ports Ethernet et des lignes de transmission/réception couplées en communication avec l'un respectif des ports Ethernet. Les ports Ethernet comprennent un port Ethernet de réception active et au moins un port Ethernet de réception de sauvegarde. Chaque ligne de transmission/réception transporte des copies d'un paquet de données envoyé à partir d'un second noed d'émetteur-récepteur couplé en communication. L'entrée de paquet de données doublé depuis une ligne de transmission/réception vers le port Ethernet de réception active est reçue au niveau du premier noed d'émetteur-récepteur. L'entrée de paquet de données doublé depuis une ligne de transmission/réception vers l'un respectif d'un port Ethernet de réception de sauvegarde est rejetée au niveau du premier noed d'émetteur-récepteur. Si la ligne de transmission/réception entrant le paquet de données doublé sur le port Ethernet de réception active échoue, un des ports Ethernet de réception de sauvegarde commence à fonctionner en tant que port Ethernet de réception active. Le premier noed d'émetteur-récepteur est configuré pour sortir des paquets de données doublés à partir de chacun des ports Ethernet pour une transmission sur chacune des lignes de transmission/réception.
