According to a list of values distributed in a plurality of modules, it is possible to create a list in which the values are arranged in the ascending order without overlap. An information processing system includes a plurality of PMM which are connected by data transmission paths. Memory of the PMM has a list of values arranged in the ascending or descending order without overlap. According to the order decided for each of the PMM and the list of values received from another PMM, a PMM judges whether it is a representative module representing at least one memory module holding the contained value for the values stored in the list (LOCAL LIST) of the values held by the PMM itself. If the PMM is the representative module (RV-0 to RV-7), it stores information indicating that it is the representative module while correlating it with the stored value.
