Abstract Two substrate surfaces, at least one of which is porous, axe bonded with aqueous dispersions of adhesive. A rubber-containing first dispersion containing an acrylic acid ester polymer and a colloidal second disper- sion of a chloroprene polymer are applied to at least one of the substrate surfaces after prior or with simul- taneous thorough mixing. Immediately thereafter or somewhat later, the substrate surfaces to be bonded are placed on top of one another with adhesive emulsion in the wet state and pressed together. The two substrate surfaces adhere to one another with a high initial force. The water evaporates through the porous substrate surface(s). The process can be used particularly advantageously for the bonding of foams.
