An implant for insertion or implantation within a body includes an electrical circuit for performing one or more commands when the implant is activated, an energy storage device, and a switch coupled to the electrical circuit and the energy storage device. An acoustic transducer is coupled to the switch, the acoustic transducer being activatable upon acoustic excitation by an external acoustic energy source for closing the switch to allow current flow from the energy storage device to the electrical circuit. The one or more commands includes measuring a physiological parameter with a biosensor coupled to the electrical circuit, or controlling a therapeutic device coupled to the electrical circuit. The therapeutic device or biosensor may be activated for a predetermined time or until the switch is opened in response to another acoustic excitation of the acoustic transducer.
La présente invention concerne un implant d'insertion ou d'implantation dans un corps et présente un circuit électrique destiné à exécuter une ou plusieurs commandes lorsque l'implant est activé, un dispositif de stockage d'énergie, et un commutateur couplé au circuit électrique et au dispositif de stockage d'énergie. Un transducteur acoustique est couplé au commutateur, ledit transducteur acoustique pouvant être activé lors d'une excitation acoustique par une source d'énergie acoustique extérieure permettant de fermer le commutateur pour permettre le passage du courant à partir du dispositif de stockage d'énergie vers le circuit électrique. La ou les commandes comprennent la mesure d'un paramètre physiologique à l'aide d'un biocapteur couplé au circuit électrique, ou la régulation d'un dispositif thérapeutique couplé au circuit électrique. Le dispositif thérapeutique ou biocapteur peut être activé pendant une durée prédéterminée ou jusqu'à l'ouverture du commutateur en réponse à une autre excitation acoustique du transducteur acoustique.
