ABSTRACT A method and device for sampling from the body of human being or animal, a fluid specimen to be used for analysis purposes such as detecting whether or not certain microorganisms are present. A fluid collecting means for collecting a fluid specimen is situated at the body at the region where the specimen is to be sampled, and an enclo- sure means cooperates with the fluid collecting means to provide between the exterior and interior of the enclosure means conditions for transferring a body fluid from the collection means to the interior of the enclosure means. At the same time a structure is provided to prevent body fluid transferred to the interior of the enclosure means from escaping therefrom, so that when the enclosure means has been separated from the body, the fluid specimen collected therein is available for analysis.
