A window module (10) for mounting either directly into the soft top of a vehicle or into a window side screen itself attachable to the half door of the soft topped automobile. The window module (10) has a fixed window (12) panel and a sliding window panel (14) mounted in a frame (18) which is divided longitudinally into interior and exterior parts. The two parts fit firmly together to form a confining channel for track for the sliding window panel. The surrounding fabric (19) is clamped to the frame either between the interior and exterior frame parts or between the exterior frame parts and an outermost decorative strip (88). The two frame parts (38, 40) may snap together by means of lugs on one part latching into apertures on the other. Alternatively overlapping flanges of the frame parts may be force fitted together. The force fit may be reinforced by bolts, welds adhesive or other suitable means. The fabric (19) trapped between the frame parts may be fabric of the soft top of the vehicle or may be fabric of a surrounding frame which is adapted to fit on the half door of a motor vehicle.

Le module fenêtre (10) possède une glace fixe (12) et une glace coulissante (14), qui sont montées sur un cadre (18) divisé longitudinalement en une partie extérieure et une partie intérieure. Les deux parties sont fermement serrées l'une contre l'autre pour former un canal de rétention qui sert de glissière à la glace coulissante. La toile (19) qui entoure le cadre est fixée par serrage à ce dernier soit entre les parties extérieure et intérieure du cadre, soit entre la partie extérieure du cadre et une bande de décoration (88) extérieure. Les deux parties (38, 40) du cadre peuvent s'accoupler au moyen de tenons que comporte l'une des parties et qui rentrent dans les ouvertures pratiquées dans l'autre partie. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, les brides chevauchantes des parties du cadre peuvent être maintenues ensemble par serrage forcé. On peut consolider ce serrage forcé avec des vis ou de l'adhésif, par soudage ou avec d'autres moyens appropriés. La toile (19) piégée entre les parties du cadre peut être celle de la capote du véhicule; elle peut aussi être celle d'un cadre environnant, adapté à la demi-porte du véhicule à moteur.
