ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An energy recovery system in a motor vehicle includes a rotary electric machine coupled to a drive system of the motor vehicle, and a capacitor assembly for storing electric energy which is generated when the rotary electric machine is in a regenerative mode. When the motor vehicle is decelerated, the rotary electric machine operates as a generator in the regenerative mode, and generated electric energy is supplied to charge the capacitor assembly, which comprises a plurality of capacitors of high charging efficiency.
