The invention relates to a method for assessing heart failure in an individual comprising the steps of a) measuring in a sample obtained from the individual the concentration of the marker endostatin, of b) op- tionally measuring in the sample the concentration of one or more other marker(s) of heart failure, and of assessing heart failure by comparing the concentration determined in step (a) and optionally the concentration(s) determined in step (b) to the concentration of this marker or these markers as established in a control sample. Also disclosed are the use of endostatin as a marker protein in the assessment of heart failure, a marker combina-tion comprising endostatin and a kit for measuring endostatin.

L'invention concerne une méthode d'évaluation d'insuffisance cardiaque chez un individu comprenant les étapes consistant à a) mesurer dans un échantillon obtenu de l'individu la concentration du marqueur endostatine, b) mesurer éventuellement dans l'échantillon la concentration d'un ou plusieurs autres marqueurs d'insuffisance cardiaque, et évaluer une insuffisance cardiaque par comparaison de la concentration déterminée à l'étape (a) et éventuellement de la ou les concentrations déterminées à l'étape (b) par rapport à la concentration de ce marqueur ou de ces marqueurs, telle qu'établie dans un échantillon témoin.
