ABSTRACT A tube mill includes a feed screw, which is yieldingly mounted to an inner tube that rotates together with the mill and is connected with a shaft. The shaft is supported by a roller bearing which forms part of a movable bearing support located external of the mill. The bearing housing is mounted on a radially spaced supporting ring by a plurality of pretensioned springs. Shocks and thrust and thrashing of the feed screw, which are transmitted to the shaft, are absorbed by the springs so that the shaft bearing is substantially free of uneven loads and radial and axial displacement of the shaft may be accommodated.
