Methods and systems for routing information in an integrated global communications network comprising a signalling system interconnecting a source router, a plurality of intermediate routers, a destination router and a routing processor for routing the multimedia information. The source router receives the information including the routing requirements associated with the information and transmits a routing query signal to the routing processor. The routing processor evaluates the routing requirements, determines which routers and communication paths are capable and available to route the information, evaluates the statistical availability of such routers and selects an optimal routing path comprising select ones of the available routers and communication paths.
Méthodes et systèmes de routage d'information dans un réseau universel intégré de communication comprenant un système de signalisation interconnectant un routeur de source, un certain nombre de routeurs intermédiaires, un routeur de destination et un processeur de routage pour le routage de l'information multimédia. Le routeur de source reçoit l'information comprenant les exigences de routage associées à l'information et transmet un signal de demande de routage au processeur de routage. Ce dernier évalue les exigences de routage, détermine quels routeurs et quels trajets de communication sont libres et capables de router l'information, évalue la disponibilité statistique de ces routeurs et sélectionne un trajet de routage optimal associant les trajets de communication et routeurs disponibles sélectionnés.
