The title of this invention is the Floating Generators. They are set in barges which are moored in a fixed position near the bank of a river or a tidal basin. The generators are driven by pulleys from a power shaft in the middle of the barge which descends through a waterproof fitting in the bottom of the barge and ends six feet below it. Attached to the bottom of the shaft is a rotor which is driven by the water current. This is a new version of hydro-electric power whose only substantial modern version is the power dam which involves heacy cost in terms of its construction and the ecological damage it inflicts on frequently fertile land required for its catchment area and to the river itself including loss of valuable fisheries. This system provides a modest source of power at low cost and with no environmental drawbacks. Maintenance costs would be negligible.
