A tarp system and method of installation is provided for covering an open frame structure with a tarp in which the tarp spans the frame structure under tension. The frame structure generally includes a pair of base rails along opposing sides of the structure for securement of the tarp thereto. The tarp includes tubes which are integrally formed therein along opposing side edges which receive rods therein for mounting to the respective base rails. A plurality of tensioning members are provided at spaced locations along the opposing sides of the structure, coupled between the rod members and the respective base rails. The tensioning members generally comprise a wire which is formed to have a pair of confronting hooks and a deformed sprung section between the confronting hooks.
