A portable platform for locating at an open mouth of a grave of a graveside during lowering of a casket into the grave comprising a plurality of rigid panels and connecting means for interconnecting the panels to form an integral structure for stably standing on ground surrounding the grave at the open mouth. Each panel is formed from a frame and a covering sheet material which is perforated to allow the penetration of water and which is sufficiently strong to support a person standing on the panel. The panels are shaped and arranged for interconnection to form a ring arranged to surround the open mouth with an outside edge spaced outwardly from the open mouth and an inner edge located adjacent the open mouth, the inner edge defining a rectangular opening for closely surrounding the open mouth and shaped to allow the passage therethrough of the casket.
