A lithium manganate useful as an active material of the positive plate of a lithium cell, a method for producing the same, a positive plate for a lithium cell comprising an active material of lithium manganate, and a lithium cell are provided. The lithium manganate is cubic particles and the particles have pores therein. Therefore lithium cell comprising such an active material of lithium manganate has a high initial discharge capacity of over 95 mAh/g and an excellent cycle characteristic.

Cette invention concerne du manganate de lithium utilisé comme matériau actif dans la plaque positive d'une pile au lithium, ainsi qu'un procédé de production de manganate de lithium, une plaque positive pour pile au lithium comprenant un matériau actif fait de manganate de lithium et, enfin, une pile au lithium. Le manganate de lithium se présente sous forme de particules cubiques comportant des pores. Une pile au lithium comprenant ce matériau actif fait de manganate de lithium possède une capacité de décharge initiale élevée qui dépasse 95 mAh/g, et présente en outre d'excellentes caractéristiques de cycle.
