A method and and controller for well stimulation apparatus. The well stimulation apparatus comprises a downhole heater, a power supply system and a fluid injection system. The controller comprises surface and bottomhole data collection sensors for temperature, pressure and fluid flow and power sensors for current, voltage and power. The system includes a computational unit for receiving the data, evaluating the data and producing control signals to control the power supply or the fluid injection pump. In one embodiment a calculation of near wellbore hydraulic resistence is made to determine whether the treatment continues to be improving flow through the well.
