The present invention relates to a self-cleanable filter assembly capable of filtering small particles from a gas stream, the use of one or more metal fiber filter elements in said filter assembly, use of said filter assemblyin a spray-dryer installation. The invention further relates to a system for cleaning the filter assembly, a method of cleaning the filter assembly and the filter elements contained therein, and a spray dryer installation comprising the filter assembly of the present invention.
