ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The cap is of a tamper-evident type having a flat top disk and a peripheral depending skirt. A stacking, non- nesting rabbet is formed at the corner of intersection of the disk and skirt. The skirt slants downward-inward from the top and the area of a horizontal tear line and then slants downward-outward to its bottom edge. A tear strip is used to pull off the lower half of the skirt. Internal locking beads engage the external beads of the container neck. The wide bottom edge of the skirt rests on the rabbet of an underlying cap for stacking and to prevent nesting during transportation. The slanted upper part of the skirt is a means for removing the cap from the neck after the lower skirt has been torn off.
