A method of determining dose sufficiency related parameters in a test strip for performing a measurement on a biological fluid comprising: a capillary fill chamber extending a length along the test strip from an intake opening to a terminus, a reagent disposed in the capillary fill chamber between the opening and the terminus, the reagent defining a measurement zone, and at least two dose sufficiency electrodes defining a gap there between and in operative with the capillary fill, chamber, the electrodes located between the measurement zone and the terminus; applying the biological fluid to the opening, whereby the fluid flows from the opening towards the terminus; applying an AC test signal to a first one of the electrodes; determining the presence or absence of a response above a predetermined threshold at the second one of the electrodes, the response indicating that the fluid has occupied substantially all of the measurement zone.
La présente invention concerne un procédé qui permet de déterminer des paramètres liés à la suffisance de dose dans une bande d'essai afin d'effectuer une mesure sur un liquide biologique, laquelle bande d'essai comprend une chambre de remplissage capillaire s'étendant sur une longueur de la bande d'essai depuis une ouverture d'admission jusqu'à une terminaison, un réactif disposé dans la chambre de remplissage capillaire entre l'ouverture et la terminaison, le réactif définissant une zone de mesure, et au moins deux électrodes de suffisance de dose définissant un espace entre elles et fonctionnellement reliées à la chambre de remplissage capillaire, les électrodes étant placées entre la zone de mesure et la terminaison, le procédé consistant à appliquer un signal d'essai c.a. à une première électrode, à déterminer la présence ou l'absence d'une réponse au-dessus d'un seuil prédéterminé à l'emplacement de la seconde électrode, la réponse indiquant que le liquide biologique a occupé sensiblement toute la zone de mesure.
