Conception is prevented in male mammals by making an incision (11) in one wall of the vas deferens (10) near the epididymis and inserting a filament (20) into the vas deferens through the incision. The filament has a length at least about one-fourth the length of the vas deferens and an outside diameter about equal to the inside diameter of the vas deferens. It contains an enlargement (21-22-23) at one end and is made of a material inert to tissue. The filament is inserted into the vas deferens all the way to the enlargement. The incision remains open around the filament to permit sperm to escape from the vas deferens.
Selon l'abrégé, on empêche la conception chez des mammifères mâles en pratiquant une incision (11) dans une paroi du canal déférent (10), près de l'épididyme et en introduisant un filament (20) à l'intérieur du canal déférent à travers la partie incisée. Le filament a une longueur égale à au moins un quart environ de la longueur du canal déférent et un diamètre extérieur approximativement égal au diamètre intérieur du canal déférent. Il présente un élargissement (21-22-23) à une de ses extrémités et est fait dans une matière inerte vis-à-vis des tissus. Ce filament est introduit tout le long du canal déférent jusqu'audit élargissement. L'incision reste ouverte autour du filament de façon à permettre au sperme de s'échapper du canal déférent.
