A method for performing a flying grade switch in an ester production process, which preferably is operated in semi-continuous mode, maximises plant equipment productivity while minimizing product cross-contamination. Mixed ester products of the process containing a C9-C11 alkyl or isodecyl benzoate together with a higher molecular weight dialkyl phthalate or cyclohexanoate, bring performance advantages such as improved permanence in plasticised PVC articles or improved processability in manufacturing these articles.

L'invention porte sur un procédé pour effectuer une commutation de qualité volante dans un procédé de production d'esters, lequel, de préférence, conduit dans un mode semi-continu, rend maximal la productivité de l'installation d'usine tout en rendant minimale la contamination croisée des produits. Des produits d'esters mixtes du procédé contenant un benzoate d'alkyle en C9-C11 ou d'isodécyle conjointement avec un phtalate de dialkyle ou un cycloexanoate de masse moléculaire supérieure, apportent des avantages de performances tels qu'une permanence améliorée des articles de PVC plastifié ou une aptitude améliorée à la mise en AEuvre dans la fabrication de ces articles.
