A data processing tool for the viewing of real-time, critical patient data on remote and/or mobile devices. The tool efficiently renders graphical data on the screen of the remote device in a manner that makes it practical for the health care provider to accurately and timely review the data for the purpose of making an informed decision about the condition of the patient. Charting control is established and implemented using the latest GDI+, GAPI and PDA drawing techniques. The charting components provide landscape support, an ability to overlay patient data and patient images, zoom in/zoom out, custom variable speed scrolling, split screen support, and formatting control. The methodology operates as an asynchronous application, without sacrificing crucial processing time in the mobile/handheld device. The methodology allows the critical patient data to be streamed in real-time to the handheld device while conserving enough CPU power to simultaneously allow the end user to interact at will with the responsive display application. The methodology is structured using object oriented concepts and design patterns. Each logical tier of the methodology, from the data access objects and the charting control objects, to the user interface objects, is structured with precise interfaces. Finally, the methodology implements an IT management console that allows system managers to monitor the exchange of data between hospital systems and the primary database, including all patient data packets, notifications and alerts, connected remote devices, etc.
L'invention concerne un outil de traitement de données pour la visualisation en temps réel de données de patient critiques sur des dispositifs à distance et/ou mobiles. L'outil produit efficacement des données graphiques sur l'écran du dispositif à distance de manière à faciliter la tâche du fournisseur de soins de santé pour ainsi étudier avec précision et rapidité les données afin de prendre une décision fondée quant à l'état du patient. On obtient et l'on utilise des courbes à l'aide des dernières techniques de tracé GDI+, GAPI et PDA. Les composantes graphiques fournissent un support de format paysage, la possibilité de superposer des données et des images concernant le patient, de faire des gros plans et des plans panoramiques, de personnaliser le défilement à vitesse variable, de diviser le support écran et de formater le contrôle. La méthodologie fonctionne comme une application asynchrone, sans affecter le temps de traitement crucial dans le dispositif mobile/portable. La méthodologie permet d'envoyer les données de patient critiques en temps réel vers le dispositif portable tout en conservant suffisamment de puissance d'unité centrale pour permettre simultanément à l'utilisateur final d'interagir à volonté avec l'application d'affichage interactive. La méthodologie est structurée avec des motifs de conception et des concepts orientés objet. Chaque niveau logique de la méthodologie, des objets d'accès de données et des objets de contrôle graphiques, aux objets d'interface utilisateur, est structuré avec des interfaces précises. Finalement, la méthodologie met en oeuvre une console de gestion informatique qui permet aux administrateurs du système de surveiller l'échange de données entre les systèmes d'hôpitaux et la base de données primaire, y compris tous les paquets de données de patient, les notifications et les alertes, les dispositifs à distance connectés, etc.
