A Bt strain showing an insecticidal activity not only on lepidoptera but also other insects; insecticidal proteins produced by this strain and genes thereof; hosts producing the insecticidal proteins; and pesticides. The novel strain is SSK-10 belonging to Bacillus thuringiensis and deposited under the accession number FERM BP-6162. The above insecticidal proteins contain an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO.2 optionally having the substitution, deletion, addition or insertion of one or more amino acids and exhibiting an insecticidal activity.

L'invention concerne: une souche de Bacillus thurigiensis présentant une activité insecticide non seulement à l'égard des lépidoptères, mais aussi d'autres insectes; des protéines insecticides produites par cette souche et les gènes de ces protéines; les hôtes qui produisent ces protéines insecticides; et des pesticides. La nouvelle souche est la souche SSK-10 appartenant au Bacillus thurigiensis et déposée sous le numéro d'ordre FERM BP-6162. Les protéines insecticides susmentionnées renferment une séquence d'acides aminés correspondant au numéro d'identification 2, qui présente éventuellement un ou plusieurs acides aminés pouvant être substitués, retirés, ajoutés ou insérés, et qui a une activité insecticide.
