A water-redispersible powder based on substantially water-insoluble film-forming polymers prepared by the aqueous emulsion polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated monomers with a core/shell structure comprising a hydrophobic polymeric core with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of -30-25 DEG C, preferably -10-20 DEG C; and a shell attached to the core by covalent bonds resulting from the reaction of a grafting agent for grafting the shell onto the remaining ethylenically unsaturated linkages in the core. Said shell is prepared by emulsion polymerisation on the core particles of a monomer mixture comprising at least one monomer selected from styrene or a C1-12 alkyl acrylate or methacrylate; at least one monomer having a saccharide grouping and at least one ethylenically unsaturated linkage; and at least one grafting agent.
La présente invention concerne une poudre redispersable dans l'eau à base de polymères filmogènes sensiblement insolubles dans l'eau préparés par polymérisation en émulsion aqueuse de monomères à insaturation éthylénique et à structure "coeur/écorce" comportant: un coeur hydrophobe à base d'un polymère présentant une Tg (température de transition vitreuse) comprise entre - 30 et 25 °C, de préférence entre - 10 et 20 °C, et une écorce, l'écorce étant liée au coeur par des liaisons covalentes résultant de la réaction d'un agent de greffage de l'écorce sur les insaturations éthyléniques subsistant dans le coeur, caractérisée en ce que l'écorce est préparée par polymérisation en émulsion sur les particules de coeur d'un mélange de monomères, comportant: au moins un monomère choisi parmi le styrène, un acrylate ou méthacrylate d'alkyle en C1-C12, au moins un monomère porteur d'un groupement saccharide et présentant su moins une insaturation éthylénique, et su moins un agent de greffage.
