An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system comprising an inverter forconverting a DC voltage into an AC voltage comprising a full-bridge circuit having four silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) switches, two pulse control circuits for generating control voltage signals to turn on alternate pairs of said switches, a time sequencing circuit, and a power switch circuit. The full bridge circuit is directly connected to a positive DC input terminal and is coupled through the power switch circuit to a negative DC input terminal. The time sequencing circuit generates a first pulse signal for controlling the first pulse control circuit and a second pulse signal for controlling the second pulse control circuit so that the first pulse signal and the second pulse signal being in phase opposition. The time sequencing circuit further generates a third pulse signal for controlling the power switch circuit. The UPS inverter does not require an iron core transformer and so is of a size and weight which are compatible for use in small type UPS systems. Without sacrificing device size or safe and reliable operation, such a UPS system can be conveniently integrated physically with any standard power supply.
Système d'alimentation électrique sans coupure (UPS) constitué d'un convertisseur pour convertir un courant continu en courant alternatif comprenant un circuit à pont intégral qui a quatre interrupteurs à thyristor, deux circuits régulateurs d'impulsions pour générer des signaux de commande actionnant des paires alternées desdits interrupteurs, un circuit de temporisation, et un circuit de commutation de puissance. Le circuit à pont intégral est raccordé directement à une borne d'alimentation continue positive et est relié par le circuit de commutation de puissance à une borne d'alimentation continue négative. Le circuit de temporisation génère un premier signal impulsionnel pour commander le premier circuit régulateur d'impulsions et un deuxième signal impulsionnel pour commander le deuxième circuit régulateur d'impulsions, de sorte que le premier signal impulsionnel et le deuxième signal impulsionnel soient en opposition de phase. Le circuit de temporisation génère aussi un troisième signal impulsionnel pour commander le circuit de commutation de puissance. Le convertisseur UPS n'exige pas un transformateur à noyau de fer, de sorte que sa taille et son poids sont compatibles avec les petits systèmes UPS. Sans qu'on sacrifie la taille du dispositif ou son fonctionnement sécuritaire et fiable, on peut facilement intégrer physiquement un tel système UPS à toute alimentation électrique standard.
