The present invention relates to method of spatial analysis of a mass of particulate mineral-containing substrate, the method comprising: providing a probe, wherein the probe is adapted to generate a plasma from the substrate material by emitting a beam of laser light which contacts the substrate material and the probe comprises a light collector; positioning the probe below the surface of the mass of substrate; causing the probe to pass through the mass of substrate below the surface of the mass of substrate between a first position and at least one second position, wherein the first position and the at least one second position are separated in the horizontal direction; taking a chemical analysis measurement at the first position by using the probe to generate a plasma at the first position, collecting light from the plasma with the light collector, transmitting it to a spectrometer and determining a chemical analysis of the substrate at the first position; taking at least one further chemical analysis measurement at the at least one second position. It also relates to apparatus for carrying out a method of spatial analysis of a mass of particulate mineral-containing substrate.
La présente invention concerne un procédé d'analyse spatiale d'une masse de substrat contenant un minéral particulaire, le procédé consistant à : prévoir une sonde, celle-ci étant adaptée afin de générer un plasma à partir du matériau de substrat en émettant un faisceau de lumière laser qui entre en contact avec le matériau de substrat et la sonde comprenant un collecteur de lumière ; positionner la sonde en dessous de la surface de la masse de substrat ; faire en sorte que la sonde traverse la masse de substrat en dessous de la surface de cette dernière entre une première position et au moins une seconde position, la première position et au moins la seconde position étant séparées en direction horizontale ; prendre une mesure d'analyse chimique dans la première position en utilisant la sonde afin de générer un plasma dans la première position, collecter la lumière provenant du plasma avec le collecteur de lumière, la transmettre à un spectromètre et déterminer une analyse chimique du substrat dans la première position ; prendre au moins une mesure d'analyse chimique supplémentaire dans au moins la seconde position. Elle concerne également un appareil pour effectuer un procédé d'analyse spatiale d'une masse de substrat contenant un minéral particulaire.
